In accordance with the Illinois Department of Health, patients must be screened by their parent or guardian for COVID-19 symptoms and other criteria PRIOR to entering the clinic. If your child does not meet all of the following criteria, you must keep your child home and notify the clinic/therapist of your child’s absence.

Criteria to attend therapy:

  • Does not have a temperature over 100.4 F.

  • Not taking fever-reducing medicines, such as those that contain aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen, in order to reduce his/her fever.

  • Has not had close contact with someone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days.

  • Has not returned from travel outside the United States or on a cruise ship or a river boat within the past 14 days.

  • Has not been directed to self quarantine by a health care provider or by the County or State Department of Health.

  • DOES NOT have any of the following symptoms: chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body ache, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.

When you arrive at the clinic,  your child’s therapist will greet you at your car.  The therapist will ask you standard COVID-19 questions. Should you wish to view those questions please click here.

Following the Covid Questionnaire, the therapist will :

  • Take your child directly to a sanitizing area, assist in washing their hands and will take their temperature.

  • Then they will go to a designated, disinfected treatment area and remain there for the entirety of the session.

  • Under emergency circumstances, if a child needs to use the restroom and they are not independent - the family can come into the vestibule area to assist.

During your child's session you must choose to: remain in your car for the entirety of the session or should you choose to accompany your child, you will need to complete the Covid Questionnaire, take your temperature and wear a mask for the entire time in our office, The lobby will not be open.  This will help continue practicing Social Distancing.

After the therapy session has ended, (if you chose to stay in your vehicle) the therapist will transition the child back to your car.  The therapist will have written notes regarding the session decreasing extended contact with you and/or your family.

POLICY IN CASE OF PATIENT OR STAFF MEMBER FOLLOWING A COVID-19 RELATED EXPOSURE OR POSITIVE TEST:

  • The Caring Group will follow the School/Work Flowchart following a COVID-19 Related Absence. View this flowchart here.

  • In the event of a positive COVID-19 test:
